Install Linux on a Virtual Machine

It’s the 4th Friday of the month and you know it’s time for your favorite A Gentle Introduction to Linux for Non-Geeks again! We’ve been talking about various ways you can safely try Linux without giving up your Windows. Let’s watch a couple of videos I found on YouTube and learn how we can run Linux directly on Windows in a virtual environment, e.g. no dual boot. Once you have a Virtual Machine set up, you can pretty much try any Operating Systems you can get your hands on.

Click your way to a Linux Installation without any Partitioning

It’s the 4th Friday of the month and you know it’s time for your favorite A Gentle Introduction to Linux for Non-Geeks again! This week we’ll learn how to put Linux on your PC by downloading a file and simply clicking on it just like installing a Windows application. You should have a broadband connection, and make sure you have at least 256MB of RAM and a 1GHz or faster Intel/AMD processer. To check if you meet the above system requirements, go to Control Panel and click on System. You should have at least 5 GB of free space on your hard disc too. To find out how much free space you have, go to My Computer, under Hard Disk Drives, right click on the hard disk you’d like to install the program and check Properties.

Linux is Everything and Everywhere
